How ukdevjobs works
We are a job aggregator for hands-on software roles in the UK. We are not the employer and not a recruitment agency. You always apply on the original page.

Where listings come from
We collect listings from three kinds of place: employers' own applicant tracking systems and careers pages, official job APIs that publish listings for reuse, and other job boards. Every listing names its source, and the sources page lists what is switched on with a live count for each.
We make ordinary web requests at a polite rate. We never bypass logins, CAPTCHAs or other access controls. Any source can ask us to stop and we will.
What we keep and what we leave out
Only hands-on development roles based in the UK, or remote roles open to UK residents: backend, frontend, full stack, mobile, DevOps, SRE, platform, data engineering, machine learning, embedded, QA automation, security engineering and engineering leads who still code. We leave out recruiter, sales, support, non-coding management, design and marketing roles, and anything that charges candidates a fee.
A rules-based classifier makes the first call. Anything it is unsure about goes to a human review queue rather than straight onto the site.
Duplicates
The same job often appears on several boards. We match listings by their application link and by company, title and location, and show one row. When we have found a job in more than one place, the tick on the line becomes a ring and the row says “Also on”. We prefer to link to the employer's own page.
Links are checked every day
Every live listing's apply link is fetched at least once a day. A page that has gone (404, 410) or says the role is closed hides the listing. Every row shows when the link was last confirmed working. If a site blocks our check we say “not yet checked” rather than pretend.
Facts only when stated
Salary, working pattern, contract type, IR35 status, visa sponsorship, seniority and tech stack are shown only when the listing states them. Otherwise the field says “Not stated”. We never estimate a salary or guess at sponsorship.
Summaries are ours
The “About this role” paragraph is a short summary we write from the original listing. We do not republish full descriptions unless a source permits it. The full description, benefits and application form live on the employer's page.
The redirect
The apply button goes through a short, signed link on ukdevjobs that records the click (with a hashed IP address kept for 90 days) and then sends you on. You see the destination before you leave, and the link is checked again on the way. The redirect page tells you if the link has stopped working since our last check.
Accounts and the paywall
Browsing, searching and applying are free and need no account. The site has an optional paywall for revealing apply links which is currently switched off. If it is ever switched on, it will say so clearly on every job page: 3 free reveals with a verified email, then £2.99 per job or £10 a month, with automatic refunds for dead links. See refunds.
Promoted listings
Employers can pay to have a listing shown first for a period. Promoted rows are tinted and labelled “Promoted” and go through the same checks as every other listing. Promotion never affects what facts we show. Ask about promoting a role.
Getting a listing removed or corrected
Employers and sources can request removal or a correction. We act within two working days and usually the same day. Anyone can report a problem from the job page.
What we are not
- Not an employer: we are not hiring for any of these roles.
- Not a recruitment agency: we do not introduce candidates to employers, take CVs or charge placement fees.
- Not the application: nothing you type into an employer's form passes through ukdevjobs.
